I was born and raised on a mixed farm in east central Alberta. I am the youngest of four children and attended high school in Stettler, Alberta. In the fall of 1987, I began my career in the oil & gas industry. This has led me to work in all three western provinces as well as in the territories. It has been a very dynamic 36 years. Today, I’m a Managing Partner and Senior Vice President of the Specialized Fluids Division for Solution Services Inc. It’s a growing service company based in Sexsmith, Alberta, with a branch office in Fort Saskatchewan. We have 180 full-time employees and manage around 350 during peak times.

Throughout my career and travels, I have coached minor hockey and baseball in local communities. Since coming to the Central Peace Region, I have volunteered for many organizations. I have been involved with the Central Peace Natural Gas Co-op since 2014, serving as a director on the board until 2018 and have been Chairman of the Board since then. I’m very passionate about Rural Alberta. I feel that we need to do all we can to nurture and protect our rural way of life for the next generations of Albertans.

For the Rycroft Ag Society, I have been involved in the “Spring Break-up Dine & Dance” annual fundraiser since its inception in 2012. To date, this fundraiser has raised over $1.5 million, which has been used to complete the Spirit River swimming pool’s construction; renovate the Rycroft Ag Society Hall and grounds; purchase much-needed equipment for the new medical centre in Spirit River; renovate the Savanna Ag Society Arena; and assist the palliative care unit in Spirit River. 2024 brought our fundraiser to a new level, having raised $457,000 for the Grande Spirit Foundation for the new seniors’ lodge in Spirit River.

I have been married to my wife, Monica, for 31 years and we have 2 great adult children; Liam and Claire. We reside on a hobby farm in MD 133. My family and I enjoy spending our time tending to our acreage and animals, as well as camping, travelling, and hitting the open road on our motorcycles.
